Growing Smart — Why Ward 4 Needs Thoughtful Development
Milton is expanding fast. The question isn't whether we grow, but whether we grow with intention.
Milton is one of the fastest-growing communities in Canada, and nowhere is that more evident than in Ward 4. From the Boyne Survey neighbourhoods expanding toward Britannia Road to the exciting plans for the Milton Education Village (MEV) taking shape in southwest Milton, our community is evolving at an incredible pace.
Growth brings tremendous opportunities, but it also requires thoughtful planning to ensure our infrastructure and services keep pace with the needs of residents.
Many Ward 4 residents have already experienced some of the challenges that come with rapid growth. Traffic along Louis St. Laurent Avenue can become congested during peak hours, and families in newer neighbourhoods are eager to see parks, schools, and community amenities completed as their communities continue to grow. The Town has committed more than $49 million in 2025 toward roads, bridges, and stormwater infrastructure — an important investment that reflects Milton's continued growth.
The Milton Education Village is an exciting opportunity to build a complete, connected community around a post-secondary campus. With thoughtful planning, we can create a neighbourhood that offers a variety of housing options, convenient transportation choices, accessible green spaces, and walkable streets that will serve residents for generations.
"Strong communities are built when local voices help shape the decisions that affect them."
As new development continues in Ward 4, it's important that residents have meaningful opportunities to share their perspectives throughout the planning process. Strong communities are built when local voices help shape the decisions that affect them.
Ward 4 deserves neighbourhoods that are connected, welcoming, and built for the future. That means planning for housing, parks, schools, transportation, and community services together so they grow alongside the people who call Milton home.
Milton's growth is one of our greatest opportunities. By planning carefully today, we can help ensure Ward 4 remains a vibrant, liveable, and thriving community for current and future generations.
